ThamesLark survey the history of artefacts and features washed up and eroded out by the tidal rivers and oceans and seas surrounding the United Kingdom, from our inspiration of the River Thames with it’s 2000 years of world trade to and from London, to the shipwreck history of the rugged western coast of Scotland, to the golden sands of the Isles of Scilly. Flotsam, Jetsam and all – we are Beachcombers.
In addition to establishing the provenance of finds, ancient and modern, ThamesLark is a Beachcombing Creative for individuals and groups to express their creativity to produce unique art works from accessories, gifts and jewellery to decorative home wares and furniture. We also encourage the performing arts through beach combing and many disciplines and subjects from history to geography, mathematics to science all play a part in what we do. Whatever your interest, ThamesLark will inspire. Beach combing is about a journey, finding a way, with numerous practical metaphors and applications for life from alchemical psychology and journeying to healing ourselves, our environment and our world. In time, ThamesLark will introduce practical beach combing with information and resources, events, experiences, creative workshops, a club for all beachcombers, and the opportunity to trade and purchase items from our Beachcombing Creative.
